Benjamin Lima is assistant professor of contemporary art history at the University of Texas at Arlington. He recently completed a book manuscript on the artist Wolf Vostell (1932-1998) and the development of Happenings in West Germany. He is the recipient of a fellowship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and has presented research at the SLSA, GSA and CAA conferences. He has published criticism widely in Art in America, ARTNews, Art Lies, Pastelegram, artforum.com, …might be good, and FrontRow. He received a Ph.D in art history (2009) from Yale University, an MA (2002) in visual studies from the University of California at Irvine, and an AB (1999) in the history of architecture from Harvard University.
