_Devin King is a writer, musician, and teacher working in Chicago, Illinois. His work is primarily concerned with thinking through the interiority of the audience member by connecting formal ideas from opera, modernism, minimalism, and pop music to theories of myth, the object, and the ghost. He received an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he currently teaches in the Liberal Arts and Creative Writing departments.

King’s long poem, CLOPS, is out from the Green Lantern Press, Chicago. His poetry has been published in Little White Poetry Book and Make Magazine, and is forthcoming in Artifice Magazine. Recent visual and installation work has shown in Dallas and Philadelphia.

Four discrete versions of his serial opera, Dancing Young Men from High Windows, played throughout galleries and in the Rhino Theatre Festival in Chicago between 2009 and 2010. His writing on music can be found currently at Make Magazine and in archives at The Boston Phoenix.
